During our free masterclasses in Antwerp (March 25), Brussels (March 26), and Namur (March 27), you’ll learn how to use data and citizen science to influence policymakers and the media.

Why Participate?

The amount of litter from drink packaging is still growing in Belgium. In the Netherlands, the introduction of a deposit system led to an 80% reduction in single-use packaging on the streets. We, Dirk Groot (Zwerfinator) and I, want to achieve the same success in Belgium. With your help, we will collect data and make this issue visible to politicians and the media.

What Will We Do?

• Morning: Dirk and I will walk a route of approximately eight kilometers, mapping drink packaging and trash bins.
• Afternoon: We will process the collected data and compare it with the situation in the Netherlands.
• Evening: We will host a free masterclass, teaching you how to use photos and data to convince policymakers.

What Will You Learn?

✔️ How Dutch citizens successfully introduced a deposit system and how this can work in Belgium
